With this project, Anka aims to spread gender equality awareness to all segments of society, starting with people in different professional groups, through professional chambers in Mersin. Believing that equal language, equal forms of address, and equal perspectives should be spread primarily among professional groups, Anka Productive Women Association organizes workshops and trainings within the scope of the project with the aim of transforming the spoken and written language through the gender equality filter and making it genderless, and especially for the new generation to have a more knowledgeable and egalitarian perspective on this issue. After the completion of the trainer trainings with 20 volunteer representatives who will be active in the field from 10 professional chambers in October, the workshops with professional chambers have also started.
In this context, members of professional chambers will have the chance to benefit from trainings with content customized to their needs in the workshops to be organized with Mersin Journalists Association, Mersin Bar Association, Mersin Chamber of Drivers and Automobile Drivers, Mersin Chamber of Tradesmen and Craftsmen, Mersin Chamber of Medicine, Mersin Chamber of Pharmacists, Mersin TMMOB (Chamber of Mechanical Engineers and Chamber of Architects), Mersin Chamber of Dentists, Mersin Chamber of Financial Advisors and Mersin Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
In order to expand the scope of the project, a “Gender Equality Sensitive Professional Organization Guide” was prepared, which includes basic information that all professional chambers can benefit from. Preparations for an animated documentary on the subjects of “Gender Inequality” and “Sexist Discourse” will begin with the knowledge and experience that will emerge as a result of the work to be done with the professional chambers.
I took part in this social project of Anka Association. It was a great project. I am happy to be a part of it. After learning the project details, we started to design a logo specific to the project and a mini catalog that conveys the project. While it is obvious that women are present in every moment of life; it is important to show that this equality can be achieved in the workplace. Our animation video work was for this. I designed it in a time period exceeding 2 weeks, considering the story and every detail. The project was one of the best projects of that year.
